Tiptoe through the Tulips

Our tulip cruises aboard hotel barge Panache in Spring, offer a unique opportunity to experience the legendary tulip season of Holland.

Spring departures, currently with limited availability, aboard the stylish 12-passenger Panache begin on March 27, with six-night cruises operating every week through to the May 8 departure. European Waterways is also waiving single supplements for the April 3 and April 24 departures.

In addition to the fields of flowering bulbs, which cover Holland at this time of year, excursions include the Keukenhof Gardens, which treats visitors to 100 acres of stunning colour, that have earned it the designation of “the Garden of Europe.” In 2017, Keukenhof will be celebrating its 68th year with the theme of “Dutch Design,” showcasing Dutch sobriety combined with innovative solutions.

Cruises aboard Panache also include a visit to the Aalsmeer flower auction, where some 17 million cut flowers are traded every day. Guests can also tour the Royal Delft factory to see porcelain being handmade and painted. Other cruise highlights include the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, where guests will see its unique collection of Old Dutch Masters, and a visit to the historic city of Leiden, Rembrandt’s birthplace.
Panache is an ideal hotel barge for cruising in Holland, with its panoramic windows and a large sundeck that are perfect for experiencing and viewing the colourful tulip season in the Netherlands.
