Golf enthusiasts will already have 28-30 September 2018 circled in their diaries as the date of the 42nd Ryder Cup. For only the second time in its history, this biennial golfing competition between the United States and Europe will be contested on European soil outside the UK. The 18-hole L’Albatros Course at Le Golf National, situated in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines around 20 miles from Paris, will host the contest.

For lovers of both golf and hotel barging on picturesque canals, this presents the perfect opportunity to plan the ultimate golfing holiday in France.

The Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup in 2018 will see the USA, captained by Jim Furyk, defending their title against the European team, who have Danish golfer Thomas Bjørn at the helm. Team members from both sides are excited to play L’Albatros, which is notorious for its final 4 holes beleaguered by challenging water hazards. This modern course, completed in 1990, was constructed from scratch on flat land with both the spectator and media viewing experience in mind.
